EXHIBITING IN MARSEILLE IS A BREEZE

Local companies wanting to exhibit at a major wind energy exhibition will find it a breeze with all the help available from the Great Yarmouth Marketing Initiative (GYMI).
Four companies can take advantage of the offer to appear at the European Wind Energy Conference (EWEC) in Marseille from March 16 to 19.
Gardline Marine Sciences, OrbisEnergy and PagerPower are already set to join Waveney District Council on a 21 square-metre stand, but there is still room for more.
"GYMI takes care of all the arrangements for the stand, freight and management during the show," explained GYMI Co-ordinator Stephanie Pimlott.
"If a company makes an appointment to meet a prospective client during the conference, we even offer cover for them on the stand while they are away.
"Forecasts predict that more than £8 billion will be invested in the East of England coastline offshore renewable energy industry over the next 10 years, and local businesses should be ensuring they get a good slice of that."
EWEC 2008, held in Brussels, attracted more than 6,000 visitors from 80 countries to its conference and exhibition.
EWEC 2009 is being held at the Marseille Convention and Exhibition Centre, Parc Chanot, it will cover three exhibition halls and has already attracted more than 200 exhibitors.
The conference will cover topics from Taking Wind Power Technology to the Next Level, to Mediterranean Markets: challenges and opportunities. Speakers include Andris Piebalgs, EU Energy Commissioner and Mechtild Rothe, Vice President of the European Parliament.
The cost to local businesses to be part of GYMI's stand is £1,150 + VAT, grants of £1,000 to companies meeting its criteria are anticipated to be available from UK Trade and Investment.
